The White Canvas
The exhibition World Press Photo at WestLicht is traditionally accompanied by the presentation of a contemporary position in the upper gallery: This time on show there is the multimedia exhibition The White Canvas, curated by Nassirou Holik, in which he brings together his own works with the series Let Me Love Myself Real Quick by the Afro-European visual artist Samira Saidi.
The project deals with the experiences of Black People and People of Colour in a white majority society in which the structures of coexistence are tailored to the norm of whiteness. The project was created in co-operation with the Master's degree programme Applied Human Rights at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
